I was born and raised in the Buffalo, New York area, graduating from Williamsville High School, class of 1961. After high school, I went into the Air Force and became a Ramjet engine specialist on the Bomarc ICBM. After the service, I worked in the machine shop trade for several years and then tried my hand as an over the road truck driver. While living in New Jersey for twenty years, I bought rental properties there and also here in Florida. I was a member of the Board of Variances and the Planning Board of Washington, having served as President of the Board of Variances for one term. I eventually sold my trucking business and moved to Tennessee from where I drove oversize and heavy loads all over the US and as far north as Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I eventually went to work hauling tank trailers with hazardous chemicals and retired from the company as Ops supervisor.
My wife Judith, who is a Clinique saleswoman for Dillard’s and I moved here in January 2003, and bought a home on Harbor Blvd. five weeks before Charlie. The home was destroyed and we have built a new home on the same property.
I am interested in making Port Charlotte a better place for everyone who lives here. The Curmudgeon Club, of which I am the Secretary, is a great place to exchange ideas, and gain a wealth of knowledge from our guest speakers.
