Robert (Bob) Reichert resides in Punta Gorda, Florida with his wife Barbara. Together they have three daughters. “During my career I served as a police officer before retiring as a Detective. A memorable experience was being part of the initial homicide investigation team in the “Amityville Horror” murders, when Ronnie Defeo murdered six members of his family. The motive was money to purchase illegal drugs.
After retiring I moved into the municipal waste management field as an administrator for eight years but not before taking a stab at opening a successful retail canoe and kayak sales and rental business. During those years I was also a volunteer fireman. I recall a brush fire one spring that started at 11:00 A.M and burned out of control past midnight.
The fire consumed 2600 acres but we only lost one house. It was a tiring day. I served for thirteen years during those same years as a member of the school board in my community. And finally, I worked for eight years in the real estate field before retiring to Florida. I enjoy playing golf, talking politics and of course being a Curmudgeon.
Bob is currently a Director on the Burnt Store Lakes Property Owners Assoc. and a member of the South Charlotte County Coalition.
